Mission, Vision & Core Values
WMC Mission Statement:
"Connect with God - Grow in Faith - Serve in Love"
WMC Vision Statement:
"To serve as a beacon of Christian love, compassion and hope to our world."
Core Values play a crucial role in guiding and shaping the identity and mission of a church community. They serve as the foundation for the beliefs, principles, and behaviors that define a church's culture and guide its decisions and actions.
Our Core Values are meant to create a shared sense of purpose, bringing our members together in their common pursuit of faith, love, and service.
The Core Values of Wintersville Methodist Church provide a moral compass and a framework for making choices that align with the teachings of the Bible and the core tenets of the faith. They help our church community prioritize efforts and resources towards activities that reflect our convictions and contribute to the spiritual growth and well-being of our members.
Our Core Values are meant to create a shared sense of purpose, bringing our members together in their common pursuit of faith, love, and service.
We will honor our Lord in all that we practice and teach.

Church Leadership
In Ephesians 4 God's Word speaks about church leadership. "So Christ Himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip His people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up . . . 16 From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work." Romans 12 also emphasizes "the ministry of all believers". "In Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently."
WMC went through a major time of transition in 2023 and along with various changes, we also adjusted our leadership model. Eleven church members were chosen BY the congregation to SERVE the church and community as members of the WMC Church Council. We are so grateful for this diverse group of faithful disciples who are willing to give so much of their time, energy, skills, experience, and leadership to help us as a church continually move forward to be all that God has called us to be. A list of our Church Council members and our newly developed WMC By-Laws are available from the church office.
